March 17th, 1999
Well, we've almost finished with recording now. There's just one guitar part, some vocals and a few saxophone parts left to be recorded. We began recording on the 11th, and managed to finish all the basic tracks - drums, bass and guitar. Then two days ago we began doing the overdubs - extra guitar parts, vocals and saxophone. Unfortunately, things didn't proceed quite as planned that evening. The studio is in an old school with lots of rehearsal rooms for local bands. Navel Flush is one of the bands who rehearse there. The studio has been sound-proofed fairly good, but nothing can keep out the sound of Qrt, the bass player from Rechtum Immortalis, who happened to be rehearsing in the room directly under the studio just as we were preparing to record! So we had a couple of hours where very little could be done. Still, we got through a lot of the stuff we intended to do. Tomorrow we'll finish up, and then it's time to mix!
So what's next for Navel Flush after the recording has been finished? Well, there's another gig coming up! Yes, we will return to Loftet on April 10th, the first Saturday after Easter. Time to prepare for another killer show, people! :)
